Head Chef – Mr Shofiqur Rahman

A very highly trained chef originating from Biyani Bazar, Bangladesh. Having worked alongside many high profile and household names all over Bangladesh, he has enhanced his array of culinary skills further by taking charge of kitchens in many of the 5 star hotels in Bangladesh such as Hotel Sharaton and Purbaani to name a few. Also published numerous recipes and cookbooks renowned all over the Indian Sub-Continent.
Arriving in England he was immediately headhunted and taken to the South of England where he trained and took charge of many of the upmarket Indian restaurants in the area such as Mumtaz (Bournemouth) and Viceray (Surrey). Currently at the Chester Tandoori he is continuosly developing new menus which won’t be found anywhere in England. From the new vegetarian to speciality fish and various other meat dishes. Dishes for which he has already won an award;

Having published numerous recipes in various Asian food magazines and also being Head Chef of the highly acclaimed five star hotel Cicade de Goa for the last ten years, he is now at the Chester Tandoori developing a new menu which will not be found anywhere in the area. From new vegetarian dishes to fishes and other meat dishes . There is a great new selection to choose from. Traditional favourites to south & north Indian dishes to authentic Indian meals.
